Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to all! We kicked off the year with a baby check-up on the 4th. I've been slow about updating the journal since Nate caught a cold and I messed my back up this week. It's been an interesting week to say the least....... toddlers don't understand when Mommy and Daddy don't feel good. But we're on the mend finally and ready for a cold weekend!
The Monday check-up went well. I donated some blood for the Down Syndrome screening. We also did an ultrasound. Here are the new pictures of the baby. Baby looks much more human now! (If you're thinking, well that's weird to say, please compare these new pictures to the 2 previous ultrasounds. You'll agree.... much more baby-like. :)
Baby's head is on the right. Knees and feet are on the left. My favorite picture!
Baby got a little stretching in on screen as you can see by the extended leg.
I told baby to stretch as much as possible now. Soon there'll be none of this due to the lack of room.

Merry Christmas
What a wonderful Christmas! I got to spend it with all the most wonderful people in my life, especially Nate and Owen. Baby is growing everyday. I definitely look more pregnant at 10 weeks with this baby than I did with Owen at 10 weeks. Wow! We are so blessed! Merry Christmas everyone!

It's alive!
Today we got to see baby again. It's always a good day when we get to see baby! Everything looks good. Baby was wiggling around which was so fun seeing! Dr. Mullin said babies start moving around 8 weeks. I've been feeling better which is fantastic. Still really tired, but that's to be expected.
We're ready for Christmas.... I think... still have some Christmas shopping to do. Nate just made it back safely from Cape Town. I'm so happy he's home for Christmas! It really makes Christmas feel like Christmas when the family is all together. Just think.... next year we'll have Owen and another little one running around.... well Owen will be for sure!

July Baby!
I went to the doctor today. Everything looks good. The baby's heartbeat is going 146 beats per minute, very strong. I have a new doctor, Dr. Mullin. I really like her. She prescribed some anti-nausea medicine which is working pretty well so far. What a relief! I never felt this bad while I was pregnant with Owen. Man!
Nate and I are very excited that our family is growing. We'll be expecting him or her to arrive July 19, 2010. A July baby!!

Thanksgiving Fun!
We had the pleasure of sharing our wonderful news with our immediate members of the family during Thanksgiving. Grammi claims she "just knew" which is great. Our great shirt plan didn't work out as well as we had planned. Most people completely overlooked Owen's shirt because they were focused on his cutie-pie face. Everyone was so surprised at how much he looks like a little boy rather than a baby. Nate and I had to point his shirt out and that's when they got it.
I've been feeling pretty cruddy, mostly nauseous. Ready for this stage to be d-o-n-e. Besides that, a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Le Resistonce
For the last 3 weeks at work some guy down the hall has been baking cookies every day. The smell is absolutely divine! Since I was borderline gestational diabetic while I was pregnant with Owen, I'm trying to eat smarter during this pregnancy. There's a good chance it won't be an issue, but probably a good precaution. So.... fresh, yummy, warm cookies being baked 20-feet from my office..... well, it is testing my will-power BIG time!
