"ABC..."

Owen said "ABC" yesterday! This is the first time he's tried to say them and he did the first 3 letters perfect! We were in the kitchen and he was playing with the alphabet letters on the fridge. The song came on and he started singing along. He's so smart!

24 weeks down

Riley-girl and I had a good check-up yesterday. Dr. Mullin had a hard time listening to her heartbeat because she was moving around so much. Little stinker! She is constantly reminding me she's growing stronger. It's so wonderful!

We go back late April and then start going every 2 weeks! That means we're getting closer to meeting our baby girl!

Riley's Room

Nathan and I selected the bedding for Riley's room. Here are a few pictures of it. We're really excited! Now for furniture... humm...

Big boy!

Owen has been working on using a "big boy" cup aka no lid. He's doing awesome! He is also getting pretty good at using a spoon or a fork. It doesn't always end up where he plans... but he's making great progress.

Parenting Food for Thought

Nathan shared an article with me that his mom sent him. It's really interesting because it's so simple! It certainly has me thinking about the little traumas of the day with Owen and the little changes in our routine that can make it better.

We had a wonderful check-up today. The anatomy scan showed a very healthy baby! And it also let us take a glimpse at who will be arriving in July.... a baby girl! We are very excited to have her join our family! Here's a picture of her profile.

4 months down, 5 to go

I had a great check-up today. Nate was able to go with me. We heard baby's heart. It sounded strong for the few seconds we heard it. Baby was very wiggly making it hard for the doctor to stay in the right spot. Dr. Mullin asked if we wanted to see the baby which is of course a YES. She tried to find out the sex of the baby early but baby held out on us by making itself into a little ball with legs crossed tight. So a few more weeks of waiting and a few more weeks of development and we'll go in for another ultrasound. Hopefully baby is in a different position so we can see if we'll be looking for trucks or transitioning into the world of dolls.
